Helping churches make sense of digital

Most churches know they need to do more digitally. They just don't know where to start, or who to ask.

Who writes this

After more than a decade leading digital for UK charities and churches, we have seen first-hand the gap between what churches want to do online and the practical support available to help them get there.

Church Digital Strategy was born to bridge that gap. We translate mission into practical digital journeys: from being found on Google, to reaching new communities online, to making the most of AI tools without losing the human touch.

Why this exists

With more than 10 years' experience helping charities and mission-driven organisations find their digital voice, we realised many churches were falling behind, not because of lack of passion, but because the digital world felt overwhelming.

The advice that does exist is often US-focused, assumes large budgets and dedicated staff, or comes wrapped in tech jargon. That doesn't help a volunteer trying to set up a church Facebook page, or a minister wondering whether their privacy notice is GDPR-compliant.

Church Digital Strategy provides guidance that is:

  • UK-specific: covering UK data protection law, UK licensing (CCLI, PRS/PPL), UK tools and UK best practices
  • Cross-denominational: whether you are Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, URC, Pentecostal or independent, this works for your church
  • Practical and non-technical: written for the minister asked to "sort out our online presence", not for IT professionals
  • Honest about trade-offs: we won't pretend everything is easy, or that there's one right answer for every church

And because we're ministry-minded, every template, resource and guide is designed so that even the smallest rural chapel can benefit alongside a city centre network church.
